Solar Dragon

30x30cm Acrylic on canvas 2023 Some dragons are said to be able to absorb sunlight. Lying on summer hills and warm stones, they let the rays pass through their armor, gathering life-giving warmth. Their star-like eyes narrow lazily, their tails curled around them like enormous scaly cats. It's unknown which of them first invented this way of spending time, but it's clear that these two species have always gotten along well. In the evening, as the sun begins to set, the dragons rise high into the darkening skies, glowing blue like new constellations, fooling learned astronomers and idle observers alike until they expend all their accumulated heat.
